As the number of Covid19 infected people in Kashmir has started to swell, the authorities have tightened the restrictions further and asked the people associated with essential commodities to receive movement passes from DCs.
“Restrictions on the movement and assembly of people have been intensified in Kashmir to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus,” officials said here.
They said that roads remained blocked with razor wires and legal action was taken against violators. The restrictions on the movement and assembly of people across Kashmir completed its 8th consecutive day on Thursday.
The officials said that administrations in all districts have put in place a mechanism to ensure uninterrupted supplies and delivery of essential services to the public. Restrictions were first imposed in many parts of the valley on last Thursday to contain the spread of the virus. The measures were taken after a 67-year-old woman from the Khanyar area of the city, who had returned from Saudi Arabia on March 16 after performing Umrah, tested positive for Covid19
